Resort gears up for spectacular Spectacular

Summer events at Tenby harbour get underway tomorrow (Sunday), when the Rotary Club of Tenby stage the Family Fun Harbour Spectacular.

An afternoon and evening featuring local entertainment, charity fundraising and food and drink stalls will end with a bang with a grand firework display from the end of the harbour.

The mayor of Tenby, Councillor Trevor Hallett, will officially open the event at 4pm, ahead of entertainment in and around the marquee on the harbour car park. Set to appear are the Seren Irish Dancers at 4.05pm, sea shanty singers The Vagrant's Crew at 4.45pm; Wings Over Pembrokeshire at 6.15pm, The Frantic Five at 7.30pm and Symphony Sid and the Swing Kings at 8.45pm.

The club will be organising another Spectacular on Sunday, August 12th, and Brian Charles, the president of the Rotary Club of Tenby, said: “We are delighted to put on the events for the community, both as an enjoyable family holiday occasion and also as an important source of charity fundraising for our club.

"The cost of putting on the events is some £4,000 and we merely ask all guests to donate a minimum of just £1 per person to our collectors to ensure that the events are a success and raise muchneeded funds for us to support as many charities and good causes as we can in the year ahead."
