Five local cyclists will set off on a challenging 874 mile sponsored bike ride from Land's End to John O’Groats today (Thursday).
Eurfyl Lewis of Llanglydwen, Anthony Jenner of Efailwen, Tomos Howells of Glandwr, Steffan Phillips, Rhoshill, and Guto Vaughan of Blaenffos are raising money for Ty Hafan, the hospice for children
and Cancer Research Wales.
They hope to complete the grueling ride over ten days, starting this morning and averaging 87 miles a day.
Tŷ Hafan offers comfort, care and support for life-limited children and young people and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the whole family.
Cancer Research Wales has raised many millions of pounds for research into the treatment and diagnosis of cancer which has benefitted people in Wales and all over the world.
Eurfyl Lewis said: "Both charities do fantastic work here in Wales and we are appealing for financial support from individuals, business, chapels/churches, community groups associations and
organizations."
