Two Pembrokeshire properties were hit by falling trees blown down in stormy weather last night (Wednesday) and in the early hours of this morning.

Haverfordwest's Quay Street was closed to traffic for a time after a tree toppled from a bank, partially landing on a two-storey property and electrical cables.

The fire service aerial appliance was used to assess the damage. The incident was then left in the hands of Western Power and the highways department.

Also in the town, the fire service was called to Prescelly Road, where part of a falling tree struck a house.

Pembrokeshire County Council workers also dealt with trees which came down near Pontfaen at around 7.15pm, and between Penffordd and Bletherston shortly before 11pm on Wednesday.

A tree also fell on the minor road near Trefiggin Quarry, Eglwyswre at 3.03am, while a large branch fell on the road near Manorbier railway station.

Meanewhile the aerial appliance from Haverfordwest and a fire crew from Tenby went to The Green, Tenby, following reports of an unsafe branch.

They were unable to get the aerial appliance in position due to unsafe ground and left the incident in the hands of the police.
