Team GB's beats are unbeatable

The artwork of a north Pembrokeshire man has been spotted adorning the ears of Team GB.

Jason Rhys-Thomas is the owner and lead artist at Custom Cans, a small business which customises headphones for DJs, musicians and more recently athletes.

Jason grew up in Fishguard and studied art at Ysgol Bro Gwaun.

He then went on to Pembrokeshire College where he studied electronics, engineering and art and design.

The 36-year-old set up his own company, Custom Cans, last year. The business usually specialises in one-off designs.

However it was app-roached by Sennheiser, a headphone manufacturer, to customise their Adidas headphones for Team GB.

The result was 100 pairs of custom Adidas HD25-1 headphones which were given as gifts to some of the country’s top athletes and paralympians.

The headphones were sported by Tom Daley, Victoria Pendleton and Jess Varnish to name but a few.

“It was great to see them on TV,” said Jason.

“We weren’t 100% sure the athletes had got them, so when we saw them it was quite exciting.

“It’s been good publicity. A lot of people are interested and have made contact since we’ve been on TV.”
