Cut off five rescued by lifeguards
10:45am Monday 20th August 2012 in News
A family of five was rescued near Pen y Cwm on Saturday, where they had got cut off by the tide.
Two women, two young children and a teen were walking back towards Newgale when they got into difficulties.
RNLI lifeguard Jess Gates paddled over to them on a rescue board, after assessing the situation she called in Little Haven lifeboat for further assistance.
Jess then took both children to shore on the rescue board while her lifeboat colleagues transferred the two women on the inshore rescue boat to safety. The teenager was escorted back to the beach.
The family, from Haverfordwest, had a few minor cuts after the incident and were treated by the RNLI lifeguards.
