Record office closes for castle move
9:39am Monday 17th September 2012 in News
The Pembrokeshire Record Office will be closed to the public from today (Monday), as it relocates from Haverfordwest Castle to the former site of Prendergast Junior School.
The public search room will be closed from this morning, to allow for the move, which includes the transfer of the County Archive with shelving that stretches 2.5km.
The new site has received significant funding from Pembrokeshire County Council and will have improved facilities, such as an archive conservation studio and meeting room. It is hoped that it will open early next year.
Staff will be responding to written and telephone enquiries during the closure.
