Matthew gears up for Welsh cycle challenge
11:10am Monday 17th September 2012 in News
A local plumber is hitting the road today (Monday) for a sponsored cycle around Wales to raise money in memory of his uncle.
Matthew Lewis, of Milford Haven, formerly of Hayscastle, is hoping to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in memory of his uncle Rob Large, who died in June 2007 at the age of 46, while being treated for non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
Rob had a great love of life, travelled a great deal and had many interests, one of which was cycling, and raised money for charity when he cycled in Russia a number of years ago.
This gave Matthew the idea for his 500 plus mile cycle around Wales, leaving Pembrokeshire today and following the west coast of Wales up to Anglesey, around north Wales, through Snowdonia and down to Kerry in mid Wales, where Rob lived.
He will then take the road back over Plynlimon to Pembrokeshire. The challenge will take between five and six days.
Anyone wishing to donate to the charity can do so online at www.justgiving.com/Matthew-Lewis3 , or by contacting Matthew on 07583 368510.
