Haverfordwest’s Bridge Street remains closed as a seeming stalemate takes place between an “agitated” man and police.

The man is reported to be on the roof of the shop Funky Den, in Hole in the Wall near Bridge Street.

Castle Square has reopened following the incident and local businesses have been reflecting on the day’s incidents.

The manager of Clarks said staff were not sure what was happening but the incident had been ongoing for a couple of hours.

"We haven't had to shut but it probably has affected our trade," she added.

This afternoon’s situation follows an incident at The Castle Hotel this morning. In what seems to be a separate incident, the pub had its front windows smashed at around 10am.

Gilly Parks at the pub said the two incidents did not involve the same person.

"The bottom of the sash windows are smashed, it's a listed building so we can't put any old glass back in.

"We've gone a long time without any incidents at all even on a Saturday night there's been no trouble but bizarrely on a Friday morning - it's been quite an eventful day.

"There are lots of police, the amount of man power, it's frightening. The square went dead for a bit but people are moving around now."
