Little Lucy to host big coffee morning

Three-year-old Lucy Humfrey is getting ready to be one of the youngest World’s Biggest Coffee Morning hostesses today (Saturday).

Little Lucy, who lives in Narberth, decided she would like to help stage an event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support after seeing a leaflet about the coffee morning while at her grandma’s.

“I explained that it was a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning where you invite people round to have coffee and cake, and all the donations go to helping the nurses help poorly people with cancer,”

said gran, Dawn Goldsborough, of Pleasant Valley, Stepaside.

She added: “Lucy’s response, after some thought, was ‘I would like to do that, grandma’, so we filled in the form and sent for a coffee morning pack.”

Dawn and Lucy have had fun arranging what cakes and biscuits they are going to be cooking and have also made bunting, and are now looking forward to Lucy’s Biggest Macmillan Coffee Morning, which takes place between 10am and noon at Bay View Hotel, Pleasant Valley SA67 8LR (behind Stepaside Methodist Chapel).
