Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for information following the suspected abduction of a five-year-old girl in Machynlleth.

April Jones was seen getting into a grey or light coloured van at 7pm on Monday (October 1st) when playing with friends near her home.

April was last seen wearing a purple, knee-length coat with a fur hood, white school polo top and black trousers.

The police said that all the witnesses to her suspected abduction from the Bryn-y-Gog estate were children.

Around 200 people helped in a search of streets, farmland and woodland through the night.

A hotline number has been released for people to call with information - 0300 2000 333.
