Second solar consultation held today
12:50pm Thursday 4th October 2012 in News
A second public consultations for a huge solar park in Milford Haven, will be held at Cedar Court today (Thursday).
Milford Haven Port Authority (MHPA) is holding the consultation for plans to build a five megawatt, 20,000 panel solar park at Liddeston Ridge, which could power 1,000 homes.
MHPA energy development manager Tim James said the first consultation held in September had got off to a “slow start” but hoped more people would be coming today.
Speaking at the last meeting Mr James said:
“People’s views are important, not only here but for the other sites in Pembrokeshire.”
He said he did not think people were very concerned about the proposals.
“I have not had any out and out objections from members of the public,” he added.
He said Liddeston Ridge was one of ten local developments he was aware of, which would bring training and employment opportunities.
“We want to make Pembrokeshire a great place for solar parks,” he added.
Today’s consultation takes place between 3pm and 8pm at Suite 4A, CedarCourt, Milford Haven (behind Tesco, near the library) .
