Writers vie for prize with pint sized plays
2:20pm Friday 5th October 2012 in News
An innovative play competition described as “a cross between the X Factor and a drama festival” is heading to Fishguard's Theatre Gwaun tomorrow (Saturday).
Now in its 5th year, the Pint Sized Plays Script Slam features ten award- winning plays, all of them just ten minutes long, and gives the audience the chance to vote for their favourite. The winner gets the coveted “pint pot” award.
The international Pint Sized Plays competition had a record 235 entries this year, whittled down by an expert panel of judges to six winners and four runners up.
All ten plays, which encompass a variety of genres from top quality drama, comedy, thriller and slapstick, will be performed at Saturday’s script slam and promise to entertain and intrigue the audience.
With refreshments and a bar, Saturday’s event has all the elements of a first class night out.
Pint Sized Plays Script Slam starts at 7.30pm at Theatr Gwaun, Fishguard. Tickets cost £6.50 on the door or £5.50 if booked in advance at www.pintsizedplays.org.uk.
