Vessel's plight spotted by walker

A sharp-eyed member of the public alerted coastguards to a vessel in difficulty on Saturday afternoon.

A four metre speedboat with one person on board, had suffered complete engine failure south of the entrance to Porthgain Harbour.

She was spotted by a walker on the coast path who rang for help at around 3.35pm.

St Davids RNLI inshore lifeboat, with a volunteer crew of three, was launched and reached the stricken vessel at 4.20pm.

The lifeboat set up a tow and took the stricken vessel back to its moorings In Porthgain.

After ensuring that the vessel was safely secured and its occupant ashore, the lifeboat proceeded back to station rehousing at 5.05pm.
