Diabetes bike ride a wheely good day out
10:20am Saturday 13th October 2012 in News
A fun charity bike ride in aid of Diabetes UK is taking place at Oriel-y- Parc, St Davids tomorrow (Sunday).
The event is being organised by Claire Coates of Tenby, who will be taking part in a 480-kilometre cycle ride in India in December in aid of the charity.
Claire, who has been diabetic since the age of seven, is determined to raise funds and awareness about the condition. She has already raised £3,000 for the charity through sponsorship and fundraising activities, and hopes that the Cycle for Diabetes on Sunday, October 14th, will give the total an extra boost.
The ride – with eight or 16- mile routes – starts at 10am, and entry is £10 per family (up to four people) and £2.50 per extra person.
