Huge effort to fight Cardigan floods

Fire crews from across the three counties were called to Cardigan yesterday (Thursday), as the town centre suffered flooding caused by heavy rain.
A spokesman for said the fire service said the majority of call outs had been to the centre of Cardigan, including Castle Street, Feidrfair and Morgan Street.
Six homes in were cut off by floodwater and fire crews were called out to around 40 incidents in the town.
Firefighters were also called to the holiday park near Poppit Sands to deal with flooding.
Pumps from Whitland, Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn, Llandysul and Crymych , as well as rescue boats, were all deployed to the floods.
Crews received the initial call out at around 2pm and were out dealing with the flooding until around 7pm last night.
