Man "remorseful" after urinating in street

A district Judge told a man who urinated in a street: “This isn’t France you know”.

William David Smith was seen wandering out of a friend’s house in Wavell Crescent, Pembroke Dock, on August 30th holding his crotch before undoing his fly.

A witness said she could see his genitals ‘hanging loose’.

Smith, of Powell Close, Pembroke, admitted being drunk and disorderly when he appeared before magistrates in Haverfordwest last week.

Defending solicitor Jonathan Webb said Smith had gone out of the back door and into the street to relieve himself as he wanted to avoid his friend’s rottweiler dogs.

Mr Webb said: “He is very remorseful for his behaviour and it was obviously a very foolish, stupid thing to do.”

Sentencing the 39-year-old, District Judge Vivian Manning- Davies said Smith’s behaviour had been ‘quite offensive’.

The judge added: “This isn’t France you know, where that kind of behaviour is acceptable.

“It is not acceptable in our society.”

Smith was ordered to pay £200 in fines and court costs.
