Kadyn fund hits £20,000
4:00pm Sunday 14th October 2012 in News
A Neyland woman and her family who recently jumped 13,000 feet from a plane have now raised more than £20,000 for Meningitis UK in memory of baby Kadyn.
Nikki Busby has been working hard to raise money and awareness since her 10- month-old baby Kadyn died from meningococcal septicaemia on Christmas Day last year.
Nikki did the skydive with Kadyn’s sister, Jordan, his uncle, Donovan, and Kadyn’s aunt, Becki, and they raised more than £3,000 between them.
Nikki and her family and friends have now doubled their original target.
Nikki said: “Skydiving is the weirdest feeling ever, almost as if you don’t realise what’s just happened, yet so exhilarating!”
She said: “We cannot thank our community enough.
Without them it would not have been possible. Because of how well we have done we are giving the fundraising a rest now and I will be spending my time giving awareness talks.”
Nikki’s friends and family are holding a Christmas bingo evening on November 28th and a children’s Christmas party on December 8th at Neyland Athletic Club.
To donate prizes for the events call Becki on 01646 603615 or for more information about awareness talks call Nikki on 07429 957853.
