Flood warnings put in place following heavy rain overnight

Flood warnings have been put in place for parts of the county following heavy rain overnight, with several incidents of localised flooding reported this morning (Wednesday).

Pembrokeshire County Council said it had received reports of floods by Blackbridge in Milford haven and Carew Castle, while flood warnings are in place for Dale, Haverfordwest as well as the lower Teifi.

The authority also warned that there was a portential risk of flooding at Lower Hill Street, Hakin due to rapidly rising water.

Council maintenance crews are monitoring the situation at Dale and Haverfordwest, where flood gates are in place, while businesses at risk have deployed sandbags.

A counci spokesman said: "Water in Haverfordwest has now risen to marginally flood the walkway behind Quay Street."
