Dock's "master plan" revealed today
10:00am Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
A draft ‘master plan’ of the development of the Milford Dock area will be unveiled at a public exhibition today (Thursday).
Milford Haven Port Authority and their consultants, Turley Associates, will be presenting the draft plan at a public exhibition at Cedar Court this afternoon and the local community is invited to provide further comments.
It follows the summer consultation events, which displayed initial ideas and plans to regenerate the entire dock and marina area.
Port authority estates director, Jeff Teague, said: “We want to ensure that we continue to fulfil our role as a key driver of economic activity within Pembrokeshire.
“We see the proposed development at Milford Dock as a significant opportunity for boosting the contribution that the marine-leisure, retail and fishing sectors make to the local economy.”
Milford Haven Mayor Councillor Guy Woodham said he is looking forward to seeing how the plans have developed in light of comments made by members of the public and other organisations.
“At this difficult economic time any investment that benefits the local marine leisure, fishing and retail industries and the local community must be fully supported to ensure maximum benefit is achieved for everyone, especially in our own town,” he said.
The exhibition will be hosted at suite 5, Cedar Court, from 4pm to 8pm.
