Last chance to sign MIU petition
1:00pm Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
A petition opposing the closure of Tenby's Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) closes tomorrow (Friday).
Health campaigners in the area are calling on people to support their petition to the Welsh Assembly.
The South East Pembrokeshire Community Health Network and Tenby Town Council both fear that the Hywel Dda Local Health Board has already made up its mind to shut the service.
The petition is calling on the National Assembly for Wales to ensure that the health board’s proposals for the minor injuries service are not carried out, and that Tenby’s MIU – housed in the recently-built Tenby Cottage Hospital – remains open.
The petition is available for people to sign locally, as well as online via www.assemblywales.org/ gethome/e-petitions. The closing date is October 19th.
