THE owners of an award-winning St Davids restaurant have got off to a flying start, thanks to a successful summer season which saw record-breaking numbers coming through the doors.

Jackie and John Hatton-Bell took the helm at the popular Cwtch back in May.

Between them, the couple have more than 20 years experience in the hospitality sector and took over Cwtch at the beginning of the season with the aim of maintaining and developing the restaurant’s renowned reputation.

Cwtch has previously been recognised for its high standards, having won a number of national and regional awards, including the Gold True Taste Award 2012, Good Food’s readers restaurant of the year in Wales 2012 and the south west Wales eating out award 2009/10.

“All the staff here at Cwtch have been very welcoming to us, it’s like we have been here for years,” Jackie and John said.

“The attitude and dedication of the staff is a key aspect of delivering the exceptional customer service which has resulted in our recent listings in the Good Food and AA Michelin Guide”.

As well as a record-breaking season, Cwtch was also listed in The Sunday Times.

“This really is the icing on the cake to top off such a great first season,” said Jackie.

Head chef Andy Holcroft and his team constantly develop new menus based on seasonal produce.
