A STAFF member from RGM Vehicle Body Repairs Ltd, which has a body shop on Withybush Road, has won an Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) award.

Mathew Bailey was selected by the IMI to take part in the regional finals because of his high skill levels within the autobody section.

Having won the regional heat, Mathew was then invited to Birmingham NEC for the UK finals where he was awarded the top accolade of Gold Award.

Mathew was presented with a celebratory gift from RGM Vehicle Body Repairs Ltd CEO Robert Morgan.

The IMI runs annual competitions to find the best of the best within the UK Automotive Industry.

The competitions see highly-talented young technicians compete against each other in knowledge-based tests and a series of in-depth practical tasks.

The IMI’s primary objective is to ensure that technical standards and expertise within the UK's automotive industry are constantly developed in line with industry requirements.
