CROWDS of rugby fans queued up to meet their idols at Oil4Wales, Milford Haven.

Oil 4 Wales’ ambassadors and Wales rugby stars Jonathan Davies, Rhys Priestland, Ken Owens, Dafydd Jones, and kicking coach Neil Jenkins took time out from training to sign autographs and pose for photos.

The meet and greet was organised by the family-run business to celebrate the acquisition of the fuel depot on Main Road, Waterston, from Silvey Oil.

As well as meeting the Welsh rugby stars, fans took part in a spin the ball competition to win a signed Scarlets rugby ball and tickets to see Wales v Australia at Cardiff during the Autumn International series. Jack Hunter, 11, of Haverfordwest, won the rugby tickets.

Oil4Wales managing director Colin Owens said: “At Oil4Wales our slogan is ‘working with the community, for the community’ and this event really demonstrates how we put the local community at the heart of our operation.

“When we first bought the depot, Silvey Oil had severely reduced its fleet and was close to shutting the operation completely.

“Since taking over we have quickly increased the number of vehicles. We are continuing to work hard to build a profile in the area and we’re glad the boys from the Welsh squad were able to lend a hand in helping us achieve this goal.

“We’re delighted with the turn-out of people and it was great to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they met their rugby idols. I think it was a great treat for everyone.”

Wales and Llanelli Scarlets hooker Ken Owens said: “It’s always a good experience getting out and about in the local community and meeting our fans.

“Oil4Wales is a great company to be involved with as, like us, Colin and the team are just as passionate about Wales and supporting the local community. We hope everyone had an enjoyable day.”

The family run business acquired the Milford Haven depot at the end of 2013.

Oil4Wales has a strong affiliation with Welsh rugby sponsoring the Llanelli Scarlets, Newport Gwent Dragons and Cardiff Blues teams, as well as supplying some of the country’s leading players.

Oil 4 Wales is an independent, family run oil distribution company. The company, which supplies a range of fuel services to homes, businesses, commercial premises, agricultural and retail customers, supplies over 32,000 customers in Wales.
