Customers of the Pembroke Dock Asda store are among the very first to enjoy locally grown and packed Pembrokeshire new potatoes this year.
Fenmarc Produce, a supplier of fresh vegetables and potatoes into Asda, part owns the only potato packing factory in Wales: Puffin Produce.
Richard Hayman, of Norton Farm, Rosemarket, is growing the new potatoes for Puffin Produce.
Richard said: "We produce Pembrokeshire potatoes exclusively for Asda's Welsh stores over a 52 week period. It is a pleasure to support the local Welsh community, and I am delighted to see my potatoes on the shelves of the local store as quickly as possible, ensuring freshness for the customer."
The potatoes are available in the Pembroke Dock store within an hour of being packed, ensuring they are as fresh as possible for the customer.
Drew Kirk, Asda buyer said: "Pembrokeshire new potatoes offer the customer a good quality product with strong local identity. The mild maritime climate allows for the early arrival of the new season crop-giving the customers exactly what they want.
"We are looking to build our sales of Pembrokeshire potatoes in our Welsh stores this year, highlighting the local provenance of the product at point of sale."
As volumes increase, other Welsh stores will stock Pembrokeshire new potatoes. These will be available in store the day after being taken from the field.
