Plaid Cymru President, Jill Evans MEP, will be discussing concerns on importing oil extracted from tar sands into Pembrokeshire at the Bloomfield Centre in Narberth tonight (Tuesday).

The public meeting has been arranged by Friends of the Earth Pembrokeshire and The Environmental Network for Pembrokeshire.

Ms Evans said: "This public meeting is an opportunity for the people of Pembrokeshire to look at the real impact of importing tar sands oil. It is one of the dirtiest transport fuels.

"It has no place in the sustainable economy we want to build in Wales. Investing in a massive fossil fuel intensive project that will be around for decades to come will undermine our ability to tackle climate change. Plaid Cymru has a plan C for creating 50,000 jobs and protecting our environment."

The meeting will be held at the Bloomfield Centre in Narberth at 7.30pm, where light refreshments will be available.
