£1,000 compensation for wounding victim
2:40pm Monday 7th January 2013 in County News
A Pembroke Dock man who broke another man’s jaw by punching him while he was sitting down was, last Friday, ordered to pay his victim £1,000 compensation.
Matthew Clemence, aged 22, had previously pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Christopher Paul Griffiths in Tenby on July 22nd last year.
Haverfordwest Magistrates heard last November how Mr Griffiths, aged 27, had to have surgery on his broken jaw at Morriston Hospital.
Clemence, of Dimond Street, was sentenced by Mr Recorder James Townsend at Swansea crown court on Friday.
He was given a nine month prison sentence, suspended for two years, 120 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay Mr Griffiths £1,000.
