Man admits sex offences

A former Narberth man appeared in court on Monday to admit sexually assaulting a young boy 30 years ago.

Mark Richards, aged 49, attended a plea and case management hearing before Judge Huw Davies at Swansea crown court.

He admitted five offences of indecently assaulting a boy under the age of 16 between January 1, 1983, and December 21, 1985.

Richards, now of Hereford, denied a further charge of serious sexual assault.

Paul Hobson, prosecuting, said the pleas were acceptable.

Judge Huw Davies postponed sentencing to allow a probation officer time to prepare a report into Richards’ background.

He granted Richards bail meanwhile, but warned him to use the time to put his affairs in order as a prison sentence was the only feasible outcome.
