A couple who were seen by a ten-year-old girl performing a sex act in the foyer of Haverfordwest’s Lloyds TSB are due to be sentenced today (Monday).

Last month Haverfordwest magistrates court was shown CCTV footage of the woman performing the sex act on the man.

At that hearing Gareth Robin Healey, aged 23, and Phillipa Audrey Botting, aged 23, who both gave their address as Priory Court, Haverfordwest, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency by committing a sexual act in a public place.

The incident happened around 6.30pm on Wednesday, February 13th, at Lloyds TSB in Haverfordwest.

At the February hearing David Weale, prosecuting, said a woman was at the taxi rank with her ten-year-old niece when she noticed a group of men and women being rowdy and loud, and she crossed the road.

A man and a woman came over and were behaving in a sexual manner and then went in to Lloyds TSB.

The ten-year-old girl told her aunt she could see the pair were “being disgusting” and described what she could see.

In the court, Botting held her head in her hands and looked at the floor as CCTV footage of the couple was shown.

Gareth Lewis, defending Healey, said his client’s actions had been fuelled purely by drink.

Healey acknowledged he had a problem with alcohol and wanted help, the court was told.

Magistrates formally accepted jurisdiction and the case was adjourned for pre-sentencing probation reports to be prepared.

Both defendants were released on bail, on condition they cooperate with the probation service, reside at the address given, are electronically tagged from 8pm to 8am and do not enter licensed premises, including supermarkets, selling alcohol.

Botting and Healey are due to be sentenced at Haverfordwest magistrates court today.
