THE long-term future of an historic Pembrokeshire hotel has been secured, thanks to investment by a London-based group.

Slebech Park Hotel, manor house and estate has been bought out of administration after almost 20 months of uncertainty.

It had previously been up on the market with a price tag of close to £2 million.

Additional investment is planned over the next three years to significantly develop the brand and to re-establish its position as one of the top hotels in Wales.

It will complete the vision of founders Geoffrey and Georgina Philipps in setting up Slebech Park as an iconic destination within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The development will also ensure the preservation of the historic 18th century buildings which were previously threatened as a result of the administration.

It will include additional bedrooms, improved facilities for functions including weddings and a full spa.

The investment protects the jobs of the 20 full time staff currently employed at Slebech Park and is expected to create some 45 extra jobs over the next three years.

Geoffrey Philipps, chief executive of Slebech Park said: “This is a very exciting development which will firmly re-establish Slebeck Park’s position as a quality destination for visitors to Pembrokeshire as well as local residents.

“It will provide a wide range of employment opportunities especially for young people setting out on their careers as we build on the very dedicated team that has so able brought us through the difficult times of administration.”
