A farm worker from north Pembrokeshire has been killed in a tragic incident involving ploughing equipment near Hereford.

Geraint Stuart Rees, from Llanrhian, died on October 31 in Hampton Bishop.

The 40-year-old, who lived on Rectory Road in the village, died while working on land owned by ST Leighton and Sons.

In a statement released through West Mercia Police, Nicholas Leighton said: “Geraint was well liked by everyone on the farm and he was a valued employee.

"This was a tragic event and our thoughts are with his family at this terrible time.

"I will assist the authorities with any further inquiries they may have.”

An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned in Hereford.

Detectives have determined the death was not suspicious, following two days of forensic investigation carried out at the scene.

The file has now been passed to the Health and Safety Executive.
