Pembroke Dock is gearing up for a wet and wild weekend of birthday fun , starting at 3.30pm today (Saturday).

The two-day Bicentenary Water Festival spectacular takes place over the weekend.

The festival starts with a party at the Pill – with watersports and games for all – at Pembrokeshire Adventure Centre, Warrior Way, Pembroke Dock, from 3.30pm to 9.30pm.

Pembroke Dock Bicentenary Group is looking for teams and individuals to take part in a free raft race. The races will be split into junior and adult categories with the latter needing to build their own raft to a set specification.

Other attractions include sailing, canoeing and kayaking taster sessions, and a flotilla of heritage and modern-day workboats and Celtic longboats. There will also be live music from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

Tomorrow's (Sunday’s) event will be held at Pembroke Haven Yacht Club, Hobbs Point, from 11am to 3pm. Llanion Warriors Rowing Club will host a race with teams from all over Wales, while Pembroke Haven Yacht Club has organised a sailing competition on Olympic-style courses.
