Kanga's Summer Festival

First published in County News by

A FUND-raising Festival in memory of a popular Pembrokeshire sportsman is taking place in Haverfordwest on Sunday, August 24.

Before he developed Motor Neurone Disease (MND), father-of-three Kanga – Andrew John - played rugby for Haverfordwest RFC and later coached the successful Camrose junior football team for many years.

Kanga’s family and friends regularly fundraise on behalf of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), and over the last five years have raised over £65,000 for this worthy cause.

The MNDA is the only national charity focused on MND care, research and campaigning. It is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by the condition.

In previous years, the family has organised charity events including summer dances, bingo, and sponsored bike rides.

This year, you are all invited to Kanga’s Summer Festival at The Glen Hotel, Merlins Hill. Starting at 2pm – and finishing late! – the Festival will feature over 12 local bands and artists, who will play on the ‘Main Stage’.

Plenty of food and drink will be on offer at this family-friendly event. Children can enjoy the fantastic play area, and be wowed by a magician doing tricks.

The Festival is sponsored by Musicians World, Radio Pembrokeshire and Sam’s Hair Design.

Tickets - £10 for adults and £5 for children – are available from Musicians World, High Street, Haverfordwest, Sam’s Hair Design, Merlins Bridge, or from The Glen Hotel.
