A kebab shop worker who cornered and sexually molested a vulnerable young woman richly deserved his five-year sentence, top judges have ruled.

Ahmed Karim Abou Reddina, 36, was jailed for five years at Swansea Crown Court in July.

He admitted assault by penetration, Judge Simon Tonking told London's Appeal Court yesterday (Wednesday).

Reddina, of Market Street, Narberth, terrorised his victim in January, trapping her in a room despite her fierce protests and attempts at resistance.

He groped her as she fought back, said the judge, before pinning her to the ground and assaulting her.

His victim was left traumatised by her ordeal, the court heard, and was visibly "shaking, distraught and shocked" when seen by police.

Judge Tonking said there was a clear "element of degradation" to Reddina's crime, and he had "used force to commit his offence".

The case reached court as Reddina's legal team argued his punishment was far too harsh, citing his previous clean record.

However, Judge Tonking, sitting with Lord Justice Jackson and Mr Justice Holroyde, said Reddina clearly deserved a stiff sentence.

The judge concluded: "In these circumstances, this sentence was not manifestly excessive and we dismiss this appeal".
