A Pennar couple accused of fiddling more than £70,000 in state benefits are to fight the charges.

Martyn Tegerdine, aged 48, and Paula Pearce, 44, both of River View, Stranraer Road, today (Monday) attended a plea and case management hearing before Judge Keith Thomas at Swansea crown court.

They denied dishonestly failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions between August 30, 2005 and September 9, 2014, that they were living together and maintaining a joint household to enable Pearce to continue claiming income support.

They denied a similar charge in relation to Pembrokeshire County Council in regard to housing benefit and council tax relief.

Judge Thomas said a two day trial would begin on April 28, 2015.

They were granted bail meanwhile.
