Sea Trust’s second super pod encounter of the summer will air tonight on BBC 1’s The One Show.

The charity came across hundreds of dolphins during a cetacean survey between Milford Haven and Lundy Island at the end of September.

The sighting of around over a thousand common dolphins, mainly in maternal groups, garnered massive media interest. In October The One Show came to Pembrokeshire to see if they could film it. Amazingly they found the superpod for a second time.

“The One Show asked if we would take them out,” said Sea Trust founder Cliff Benson.

“Incredibly the weather was good enough and even more amazingly we re-found the superpod of more than a thousand dolphins not more than ten miles off Milford.

“Presenter Mike Dilger and the crew were really amazed and having delivered the goods, we were also pretty chuffed, not to mention relieved to have found them again.”
