A burst water main has caused the closure of Fishguard’s Ysgol Glannau Gwaun today (Friday).

The school had no water supply so closed for the day, Pembrokeshire County Council said.

The school is due to re-open on Monday as usual.

Welsh Water said they hoped to restore supplies by this afternoon.

The Welsh Water website said this morning: “A burst water main has affected drinking water supplies this morning, to customers in the Goodwick area.

“We have a team en route to repair the damaged main and we anticipate that water supplies should begin returning to normal by early afternoon.

“When the water supply is restored some customers may notice some discolouration of tap water, this is normal in this situation and the water should clear when run from a cold tap.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
