A man who died at Pembroke Mill Pond earlier this month has been named by police as 57-year-old John William Lyall from Pembroke Dock.

Emergency services were called to the Mill Pond at 10.35am on Thursday, April 16, after a man was seen entering the water.

Police, coastguard teams from Tenby and St Govans,paramedics and the fire service's swift water rescue team from Milford Haven attended the incident.

RAF rescue helicopter 169 was initially requested but then stood down.

Police confirmed later in the day that the man had died. He has now been named as Mr Lyall and inquest has been opened into his death.
