CADW, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service, is encouraging people to make the most of their local heritage sites by hosting a programme of family events this May bank holidays.

As part of the programme, the Battle of Agincourt – one of the most renowned victories in British military history – will be re-enacted at Cilgerran Castle by living history group the Companions of the Forest, to mark the battle’s 600th anniversary.

The ‘Preparing for Agincourt’ event (23 May 23 – May 24) will include have-a-go archery and interactive medieval costume sessions.

A spectacular re-enactment of the Battle of Agincourt – in which Henry V famously defeated a much larger French army – will also be on offer to guests, between 11am and 4pm.

In addition, a number of other interactive events will also take place at Cadw sites across May, including Lamphey Bishop’s Palace, and St Davids Bishop’s Palace, as the organisation looks to engage people in their heritage.
