Age Cymru Ceredigion’s creative writing group will be performing at Cardigan Castle today, Thursday, May 28, for the Gwanwyn Arts Festival for over 50s.

Janet Lougee, volunteer with Age Cymru Ceredigion, who facilitates the group commented: “Creative thinking is ageless, and we are very pleased to have this opportunity to perform our work at Cardigan Castle.

“The group has researched and written short stories, fact and fiction, relating to the castle’s rich history and of course this event provides an ideal opportunity for their work to reach a wider audience.

“However we are not actors and there have been the inevitable ups and downs, but what impresses me most is the dedication they have all shown to the project, proving yet again that age is no deterrent to creativity.”

The Gwanwyn Festival is run by Age Cymru, supported by the Welsh Government and Arts Council of Wales.

Forty nine grants have been awarded to arts groups so that they can stage events.

Spaces at the event are limited, and free tickets are available on a first-come- first-served basis by calling 01239 615777.
