AN 11 year-old boy was airlifted to safety after falling from a footbridge in Solva on Wednesday, August 26.
St Davids RNLI all weather lifeboat received the call just after 1pm and made its way to the Gribbin area of Solva.
The young boy had suffered back injuries after falling from the bridge which crossed a small stream.
Three crew members went to shore in the Y class lifeboat to administer first aid and pain relief. They waited for the arrival of rescue helicopter 169, which airlifted the boy to the local football field.
Here he was transferred to a land ambulance and taken to hospital for treatment.
Fishguard coastguard team was also on scene, as was St Davids inshore lifeboat, which had travelled from Whitesands after being called to a report of a swimmer in difficulties between Porthseli and Whitesands beach.
After a thorough search of the area, it was concluded that the swimmer had made it ashore by themselves.
