Parents and householders in Haverfordwest are to be consulted on ways to improve English-medium primary provision in the town.

Pembrokeshire County Council is holding a review on the following six schools:

• Fenton CP

• Haverfordwest VC

• Mary Immaculate RC

• Mount Airey CP

• Prendergast CP

• St Mark’s VA

Issues for discussion include school standards, over-crowding and the infant/junior split at Mount Airey and Haverfordwest VC which are two of the few remaining separate infant and junior schools in the county.

Pembrokeshire County Council is keen to hear the views and ideas of parents and the wider community on how to tackle these issues and any other matters relating to the schools.

With this in mind, the Council has compiled a document outlining current provision and putting forward some issues for consideration.

The document and a response form are available at: www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/haveyoursay

The deadline for responses is Friday, July 1.

In addition, the Authority is organising four public meetings at which all are welcome. The meetings will all be held between 6.30pm and 8pm, on the following dates:

Tuesday, June 7 at St Mark’s VA

Wednesday, June 8 at Prendergast CP

Thursday, June 8 at Mount Airey CP

Monday, June 13 at Fenton CP
