MORE than 500 people turned out to watch flips, tricks and stunts from some of the country's top skaters and bikers at Haverfordwest Skatepark Jam on Saturday.

A celebration of the £500,000 park's continued success, the jam also saw locals compete for sweet sponsorship deals, and wow crowds with their impressive moves.

A spokesman for Haverfordwest Skate Park Association (HSA) said: "Thanks to everyone for making the 2016 Skate Jam such a success.

"Special thanks must go to the Moonshine skateboards Crew, Geordie, Scott Hamlin and Dainton from 420 Skatestore for amazing support and for donating such fabulous sponsorship and prizes.

"Fantastic local support too from Rat Clothing, The Pines Skate Shop, SevenSkateCo, Pembrokeshire Wake Park, Emerge Skate Shop Cardigan, and Pretty Sweet Shop and Scooter Shop.

"Of course to mention all at Maverick Industries for their assistance and continued support.

"But last of all we'd like to thank everyone who took part in the various competitions, and to everyone for turning up to support the Skate Jam.

"Hope to see you all back next year."

To coincide with the celebrations, Haverfordwest Civic Society also presented a Community Service Award to HSA chairman Geraint Williams, and secretary Alison Turner, who were instrumental in making the dream of a county skatepark come true.

Civic Society secretary Lesley Turner presented the pair with a slate plaque, in recognition of the fantastic success the park has become.
