MILFORD Haven Town Council has asked people playing the new Pokemon Go game to be respectful of mourners, after several complaints.

Cemetery Supervisor Paul Johnson said many people had descended on the town's cemetery to play Pokémon Go, which had resulted in a number of complaints.

"We understand that this game is addictive and very fun, but please bear in mind that this is a Cemetery, and please be aware of people who are at the Cemetery paying respects to their loved ones," said a spokesman for the council.

"We ask that you also please keep to designated paths at the Cemetery."

Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game that involved players 'collecting' characters on their mobile phone.

Released earlier this month, the craze has become a global phenomenon.

It has also prompted a number of safety warnings following people bumping into lamposts, and walking into the middle of the road.

Earlier this week, Network Rail raised concerns regarding the game being playable close to live train tracks.
