STROKE sufferers, people with multiple sclerosis (MS) or motor neurone disease (MND), and their carers are invited to learn more about the support on offer for them locally, at an information day in Neyland this Friday.

The HOPE MS Centre is holding an open day on Friday, September 23, between 10am until 4pm, so people can find out more about the therapies it offers.

Liz Brombley, who has MS, has used the centre for many years, and said the treatment she receives has helped keep her moving.

She said people may not be aware that HOPE could also help people who have recently suffered a stroke.

“Long-term therapy can be particularly beneficial to people who have had a minor stroke, if therapy is started as soon as possible after NHS sessions finish,” she said.

“The more people who know we’re here, the more we can help.

If you would like to know more, pop along to the open day, or contact the centre at any time Monday to Thursday by telephoning 01646 600384.

The centre is also looking for people to volunteer their time to ensure it keeps helping so many local people.
