TWO runners completed a true endurance test in support of the new haematology and oncology day unit at Withybush Hospital.

Chris Lloyd and Carlton Coates, members of the Tenby Aces, proved their sporting prowess completing a trek of the county's coastal path in just 24 hours.

They raised a fantastic £1,650.

Chris said: "We wanted to try something a bit different and we've had some amazing support from friends, family and others who have sponsored us to do this run including local business South Hook LNG. Fundraising for cancer treatment services seemed to make sense as we have friends and we know of others who have been supported by the nursing team at Withybush."

Trish George, Trustee of Withybush Hospital CDU Appeal, who is pictured accepting the donation, added: "The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path offers a challenge to anyone who walks it. We were therefore amazed to hear that Chris and Carlton had decided to run 100 miles along the Pembrokeshire coastline in aid of our charity. This is quite an amazing achievement and on behalf of the nursing team and patients we thank the team for their support."
