A Pembroke pensioner was rushed to hospital today (Friday) just minutes before she was due to respond to a charge of causing death by careless driving.
Jean Williams, aged 84, of Tudor House, Main Street, had been about to enter Swansea crown court when she appeared to slip and bang her head on the ground, causing serious facial injuries.
She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The plea and trial preparation hearing went ahead in her absence but without a plea being entered.
Williams is accused of causing the death of driving instructor Vanesse McAloon by careless driving in an accident on the A4075 at Penny Bridge on November 27 last year.
Williams was driving a Vauxhall Corsa and 48 year old Mrs McAloon, of Bosherston, was riding a motorcycle.
Williams will stand trial on December 11.
