MORE than £2,000 has been raised by the pupils of Monkton Priory Community Primary School in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
In addition to the school hosting a coffee morning, all the pupils took part in a sponsored run.
Sue Reece from Macmillan received a cheque for £2134.50 from head teacher Shelley Morris, Helen Matthews who organised the coffee morning, and members of the School Council.
Mrs Morris said: “A big thank you to everyone for their support. It’s an amazing achievement. This is the largest amount we have ever raised so the cause has clearly touched many people’s lives.”
