A HAVERFORDWEST wedding day was among the first to be painted live by one of West Wales’ leading artists, taking shape as the day progressed.

Emily and Ashley Crossland from Glynarthen invited Newcastle Emlyn-based Helen Elliott to produce a painting to commemorate their wedding at Hilton Court Gardens on Saturday, September 2.

The acrylic painting developed during the day as Helen recorded the events as they happened, and is the third wedding painting she has done.

“As soon as I heard about Helen’s new live wedding paintings I knew we had to have one.

“The painting really captures the day in a unique way, with the guests, the location and the atmosphere. It's something we will always keep to remind us of our big day,” said Emily.

“What an honour to be part of Emily and Ashley’s big day,” added Helen.

“I had such a great time. I was especially thrilled by the response of the children who were checking in with me throughout the day to see how the painting was going and to see if they’d been included.”

The couple, who met in 2011 at Cardiff University, spent their honeymoon in Las Vegas, Hawaii and San Francisco.

The painting was paid for by friends and family.
