POLICE are asking people to give up their guns, with Haverfordwest Police Station nominated as of the stations where they can be handed in.

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for people to hand in unwanted guns with a two week-surrender of firearms and ammunition starting on November 13.

During the two-week period, those surrendering firearms will not face prosecution for the illegal possession upon surrender and can remain anonymous.

Deputy Chief Constable, Darren Davies, said: “We are fortunate that gun crime is not something we often deal with in Dyfed-Powys Police.

“As well as taking them off our streets we also want to stop local weapons travelling in to neighbouring communities.”

If you know of people involved in illegal firearms call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Haverfordwest Police Station is open 8am to 8pm Monday – Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
