Fishguard and District Round Table have smashed their fundraising total, raising £1,000 so far for Children in Need with their second cross-Ireland bike ride and their Lower Town toll bridge.

The tablers sailed from Fishguard to Rosslare last Friday, and then drove to Limerick, birthplace of Sir Terry Wogan.

On Saturday, November 11, they were met by the city’s mayor at the statue of Sir Terry. They then set off, covering the 125 miles back to Rosslare in just one weekend, despite the bad weather. They finished at Hotel Rosslare on Sunday, November 12.

During the ride they also met up with a group of Irish cyclists raising money for Make a Wish children charity in Ireland.

The tablers aimed to raise £425 for Children in Need but have nearly doubled that total on their just Giving page alone, see https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/fishguard-and-district-round-table.

On Friday (today) they operated their usual toll bridge at Lowertown from 7.30am until dusk.
